Anxiety treatment
SPECIALIST DOCTORS

Meet Our Team Of Anxiety's Psychiatrists

Overview

rTMS has been shown to have sustained response effect in the improvement of symptoms of various disorders when compared to drug interventions, such as depression. Drug-resistant depression can be benefitted from rTMS treatment as it results in the reduction of depressive symptoms as well as anxiety symptoms in case of co-morbid conditions of depression and anxiety. Moreover, rTMS can be quite useful in the treatment of anxiety with other co-morbid conditions such as depression. There have been some studies that have shown rTMS to increase anxiety when administered on people with panic disorder. However, a very small percentage of people report worsening of anxiety while most report feeling calmer, reduced worry, and feeling an enhanced ability of coping with their stressors.

rTMS is considered a usually safe and well-tolerated treatment option. It can cause certain side effects which are usually mild and temporary such as headaches, tingling sensation, scalp discomfort, or light-headedness. It is usually used when the conventional methods of treatment such as medications and psychotherapy do not work.
