Overview
Even happy couples recognise that maintaining a strong and long-lasting relationship needs effort. When disagreements happen, couples must identify the concerns, address them with one another, communicate openly, and work together to identify alternatives. When couples come in for Psychotherapy, they are given an examination that measures the above elements in order to create a clear therapy plan. The therapist begins by examining what brought the individuals together and the initial stage of the relationship, also known as the honeymoon period. Clients identify the existing problems in the relationship in the next stage of the assessment, as well as things they would like to improve about themselves, their spouse, and/or the relationship. The therapeutic goals and objectives are based on this problem list.
